“When we are aware about our body’s sensations, we can release physical pain, tensions or stress through slow movements.”
― Amit Ray, Yoga The Science of Well-Being
KHL are a wonderful charity based in the centre of Keighley in Yorkshire. They are committed to supporting all members of the local community to improve their all-round health and wellbeing and offer a full range of fitness classes, health and nutritional support groups, workshops, art and music sessions and lots more. The atmosphere is fun and supportive, and it is a privilege to play my part.
I teach 3 weekly chair yoga sessions accessible to everyone and the groups are friendly, welcoming, and interactive.
There is a sample video below.
“ Nicky is warm and supportive to the group. She really explains in great detail every posture and what benefits are to be gained. Her calm manner impacts the group dynamics which makes every session a joyful experience. ” – Pat
“ Nicky is a fantastic teacher and makes yoga accessible to a variety of people of all ages and fitness levels. Seated yoga has helped my breathing, posture and general wellbeing and I always feel calmer afterwards and sleep better” – Linda
I am also part of a wider initiative called Re-thinking Pain, which is working across the Bradford and Craven District to support people living with long-term pain. We have developed a series of Movement Matters videos to help support people in need.
You can view a sample of the Rethinking Pain videos below. Visit their website for the full series.
