If you play golf, yoga can have endless benefits for your physical and mental game.
Having spent 15 years a a yoga teacher, I am now working with my husband Andy to bring accessible yoga classes to golfers online.
Golf teaches us to focus on technique – feet, hips, shoulders, posture and swing. That’s important, but when we become too focused on mechanics, our movement can become restricted instead of free.
Every swing is repeated. Over time, tension builds. We overthink, hold our breath, tighten our shoulders, and our hips, knees and back gradually lose their natural mobility.
Your body isn’t designed to stay fixed. Joints need movement. Connective tissue (fascia) needs to glide and stretch. The body thrives on twisting, reaching, bending, rotating and breathing freely in every direction.
Great golf isn’t just about posture. It’s about freedom of movement.
Yoga helps you move better, breathe better and play with less tension. Regular practice improves mobility, balance and body awareness, helping you swing more freely, reduce aches and rediscover a body that feels strong, supple and capable again.
That’s the difference yoga can make.
Our online yoga membership is designed specifically to help golfers unravel tension, protect their joints, and recover faster between rounds. With several classes available to join throughout the week, plus a library of classes to access anytime, you’re investing in a smoother swing and a body that feels great for years to come.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am-8.45am – Varied movement & guided breathing
Monday 6pm-6.45pm – Gentle movement and guided relaxation
Friday 8am-9.15pm – Longer restorative practice
Our Household Membership is just £40 per month, giving everyone in your home unlimited access to up to 20 live classes each month, plus our complete library of on-demand sessions.
For a golfing couple, that’s around £1 per person, per live class. Subscribe.
Behind every class is a Just Breathe WhatsApp community, bringing golfers together beyond the yoga mat. We create dedicated groups for golf clubs, ladies' sections, men's sections, roll-ups and regular playing groups—and because many golfers belong to more than one community, we'll set up and moderate as many groups as needed.
Our aim is simple: to create welcoming spaces where golfers can connect, encourage one another and enjoy being part of an active, supportive community. We also want to encourage a safe space for feedback, so we can continue to improve what we do.

Through the yoga postures called asanas we start to develop a new or long forgotten relationship with our physical bodies. Forget any preconceived ideas you might have around bendy bodies, folded into impossible looking shapes, I will guide you through easy-to-follow enjoyable movement practices which focus on the whole body.
We will explore basic postures aimed at strengthening and stretching muscles, improving and maintaining movement and flexibility. We will bring in a playful awareness of balance with a strong focus on our feet to help us notice areas of imbalance.
With practice we attune to our bodies and become alert to our internal sensations. This somatic awareness helps us feel more at home in our bodies and this can happen at any age. This is exciting and hopeful as we tend to believe that stiffness and reduction in comfortable movement
is an inevitable part of aging. I don’t believe this is true.

Beathing should be the most natural thing in the world. It is the first thing we do when we are born and the last thing we do before we die. When we breathe correctly, we breathe in and out through the nose, our diaphragm flows up and down like a parachute and we can see the belly gently rising with each in breath and falling with each out breath.
However, for most of us, this breathing pattern has gradually become illusive most of the time. With everyday stresses of jobs, relationship and
illness, breathing is no longer effortless, and mouth breathing is commonplace but it lead to a host of physical and mental problems, not least contributing to anxiety and poor sleep.
In my yoga for golf classes I will help you to recognise signs of dysfunctional breathing and teach you simple breathing techniques which will have a huge impact on your organs, immune system, sleep patterns and mental health.

Meditation can sound a bit out there to western minds, although the benefits are undisputed.
In our sessions, I will guide you into mindful awareness of the breath during our physical practice as well as spending 15 minutes per class sitting quietly observing our breathing.
In time, you can expect to notice a reduction in stress and an improvement in your all-round emotional state as breath awareness meditation actively changes the physical structure of the brain through neuroplasticity.
